Clopicard 75 mg
Clopicard (Clopidogrel) is used to prevent blood clots forming in hardened blood vessels (arteries), a process known as atherothrombosis, which can lead to atherothrombotic events such as stroke, heart attack, or death. The active ingredient of Clopicard is Clopidogrel.
Clopicard has an anti platelet activity. Certain types of cells are found in blood called blood platelets. These blood platelets are responsible for forming blood clots. Clopidogrel prevents the formation of these clots and hence maintain the smooth blood flow. It is one of the most recommended preventive medicines given in heart and its related disorders. Clopidogrel is hence given in myocardial infarction, stroke and peripheral arterial disease.
Clopicard preferably used to prevent blood clotting. The blood clots may be formed after certain procedures such as cardiac stent, coronary artery bypass graft-CABG, balloon angioplasty. Clopicard prevents heart attack or stroke in this way. Clopicard is also prescribed for treating the chest pain or angina.
Side effects are headaches, persistent nausea, mood changes, bloody stools, vomiting, confusion, irregular heartbeat, light headedness, fainting, chest pain or heavy feeling, coughing up blood or vomit, pale skin, fever and jaundice, sudden vision loss, sudden hearing loss.
In above cases you must go for immediate medical help. Do not get alarmed by the list. You may /may not experience all of them. Tell your doctor immediately in the above situations.
